Fan glue binding press
Brochure and Operating Instructions for MÜRO Fan Glue Binding Press A3 This new construction is a universal machine for perfect binding of books and brochures. The MÜRO fan glue binding press is a particularly suitable for restoring old books in combination with the MÜRO groove milling machine. After the old backs of the books have been removed, the book block is placed in the press between two thick, stabilising pieces of cardboard and pressed. With the flaps of the binding press closed, grooves of 1 x 1 mm at distances of 9 mm from each other are milled into the back of the book. The cardboard is then removed and the book block is bound. You then place the book block with the flaps of the binding press upright again, and use a brush to fill the grooves with glue. Subsequently you place cords in the grooves, spread glue over them again, and then cover it with gauze or cloth-lined paper. This combination is an ideal set-up for many assortment bookbinders and archivists. |

| For book restoration you can further strengthen the fan glue binding using the groove miller. Cords can also be placed in the grooves filled with glue. Before milling the grooves the book block must be stabilised with cardboard. | ||||

| The aligning plate can be moved backwards or forwards with the threaded spindle. This is for instance, necessary if you use the small press flaps that belong to the machine for use with small formats, or if you want to determine overhang of the object to be bound. | ||||
